Year 6 SATs Preparation in Medway: Enrolling Now for November 2026
Our Year 6 SATs preparation classes at Tuition Academy Medway start in November 2026, and we are enrolling now. Following the National Curriculum, our tuition combines individual teacher support with exam practice to help children build confidence, make progress and prepare for their May 2027 SATs.
If your child has recently sat the September 11+ exam, you may be wondering what comes next. After months of preparation, it is understandable that families want a little breathing space. However, Year 6 is still an important year of learning, with plenty to achieve before secondary school begins.
After the 11+: keep the progress going
Many Year 6 pupils have attended weekly tuition in preparation for their 11+ exams. That extra work and teacher support may also have strengthened their English and maths skills at school.
Continuing tuition can help children build on that progress. It gives them time to revisit topics they find difficult, develop their understanding and become more confident working independently.
Whether your child is hoping to attend a grammar school or a non-selective secondary school, secure foundations in English and maths will support their next steps.
Passing the 11+ is a wonderful achievement, but it is still important to stay engaged throughout Year 6. Equally, children who have not achieved the result they hoped for have every reason to keep moving forward. Their learning journey is far from over.
When are the Year 6 SATs in 2027?
Year 6 SATs, also known as the Key Stage 2 national curriculum tests, are scheduled to take place at school from Monday 10 May to Thursday 13 May 2027.
The tests cover:
- English reading.
- English grammar, punctuation and spelling.
- Mathematics, including arithmetic and reasoning.
English writing is assessed by teachers rather than through a separate SATs test.
Starting preparation in November gives children time to strengthen their understanding and practise steadily, rather than leaving everything until the weeks before the tests.
Why do Year 6 SATs matter?
SATs help show how children are progressing against the National Curriculum at the end of primary school. They help teachers and parents understand pupils’ strengths and identify areas where further support may be useful.
Secondary schools can also access these results to help plan teaching and support for their new Year 7 pupils.
However, SATs are only one part of a child’s education. Our aim is to help students develop the knowledge, confidence and learning habits they can take with them into secondary school, as well as prepare for the assessments themselves.
How our Year 6 SATs tuition can help
Our Year 6 SATs classes follow the National Curriculum and reinforce what children are learning at school.
With support from qualified teachers, students can strengthen their subject knowledge, ask questions and work through areas they find challenging.
Our preparation combines:
- English and maths support to build secure understanding.
- Individual help with topics that need more attention.
- Exam practice to familiarise students with SATs-style questions.
- Confidence building to help children approach their work positively.
For pupils who have already attended 11+ tuition, this is an opportunity to maintain momentum. For those joining us for the first time, it is a chance to receive additional support during an important school year.
You can find out more about our approach on our SATs tuition in Medway page.
